A/V Gear Guy ("we", "us", "our") is a small, family-run business based in Valencia, California. We rent and sell professionally serviced broadcast videotape and audio equipment. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us. When you fill in our quote or rental request form, email us, or call us, we receive your name, email address, phone number, company and the details of your request (such as the equipment, quantity and dates you need). If you offer to sell us equipment, we also receive details and photos of that equipment.

Order and rental information. When you buy or rent equipment, we keep records of the transaction, such as what was sold or rented, rental dates, invoices, billing contact details and the shipping address. Payments made through third-party payment services are handled by those services under their own privacy policies; we do not store your full card details.

Technical information. Like any website, our web host automatically records basic server logs (such as IP address, browser type and pages requested) for security and troubleshooting. Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when it delivers them. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies on this site.

2. How we use your information

• To answer your questions, send quotes and arrange rentals and sales
• To source equipment you ask for from our suppliers
• To ship, deliver and support the equipment you rent or buy
• To manage invoices and our business records
• To send occasional business emails about equipment and services that may be relevant to you
• To keep our website secure and working
• To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information to anyone.

3. Business emails and opting out

If you receive an email from us and would prefer not to hear from us again, reply with "STOP" or email gray@avgearguy.com with the subject "STOP". We will add your address to our do-not-contact list and won't email you again about our services.

4. Sharing your information

We share personal information only when needed to run our business:

• Service providers that help us operate, such as our email and web hosting providers, payment services and accountants. They may use your information only to provide services to us.
• Shipping carriers and freight companies, who receive the name, address and phone number needed to deliver your order.
• Suppliers and technicians, when we source or refurbish equipment for you. We share only what they need, such as the equipment and quantity required, and not your contact details unless you ask us to.
• Legal reasons, if required by law or to protect our rights.

5. How long we keep information

We keep business correspondence, quote requests and sales and rental records for as long as needed to provide our services and meet legal and tax requirements. We keep addresses on our do-not-contact list indefinitely so that we can honor your request. You can ask us to delete other information at any time.

6. Your choices and rights

You can ask us to:

• tell you what personal information we hold about you
• correct or delete it
• stop sending you business emails

Depending on where you live (for example California, Canada or the European Union), you may have additional rights under local privacy laws. Email us at gray@avgearguy.com and we will respond within a reasonable time. We will not treat you differently for making a request.

7. Security

We use reasonable measures to protect the information we hold, including password-protected accounts, an encrypted (https) website and reputable hosting and email providers. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we work to keep your information safe.

8. Children

Our services are intended for businesses and professionals. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top shows when it last changed.
